University hospital, Jena

One of the most modern hospital buildings in Germany

The project is one of the largest new hospital buildings in Germany. It offers space for a total of 15 clinics and institutes on around 50,000 m2 of floor space. Areas for 710 beds and 12 operating rooms were created in several parts of the building. The second construction stage meets the increasing need for space for patient-oriented research and teaching, including a research building directly on Erlanger Allee.

In two construction stages and several construction phases, all somatic disciplines, almost all clinically relevant diagnostic services and a large part of clinical research have been combined at the Jena-Lobeda site, which means that the different disciplines are now working even more closely together. Patients and employees no longer have to drive or be driven through the city. The quality of care for the patients has improved significantly, especially due to the close proximity.
