Hinkley Point C (HPC) is a nuclear power station being built in Somerset, England, which will supply approximately 6 million homes with low carbon electricity and provide business opportunities locally, nationally and internationally.
SOMMER is involved in this project with a total of three contracts worth more than EUR 100 million
In the first contract, signed at the end of 2016, SOMMER designs, manufactures, supplies and installs four special high-security gates that can withstand an airplane crash (APC), as well as over 1,000 installation frames for insertion into the shell. Grilles, doors and blast dampers for object protection are subsequently installed in these embedded frames. With the award of the second contract at the beginning of 2018, more than 1,000 components will be SOMMER designed, manufactured and delivered. With the signing of a final package at the beginning of 2020, the desired participation on the part of our company in the SOMMER in the Hinkley Point C project. This contract includes the design, manufacturing and delivery of various floor and ceiling hedges as well as special security doors. We would like to thank our client NNB for the high level of trust by placing all these individual contracts.
