Tafelhof Palais, Nuremberg

A bridge between tradition and innovation

The modern, sustainable building complex, which integrates the listed Art Deco rotunda of the former main post office, manages a successful balancing act between the existing structure and the newly constructed building, thus connecting the past with the modern.

The appealing new building, partly with a natural stone facade, blends seamlessly into Nuremberg's cityscape. The ensemble consists of two towers with 10 and 15 floors above ground, which form the gateway to the adjacent old town, as well as two building blocks with seven and eight floors. Flanking, along Allersberger Straße, is the historic circular building whose facade design has been preserved. After twenty years of vacancy, it is now coming to life again and, together with the new building, creates space for more than 800 hotel rooms, 12,000 m2 of office space, a 1500 m2 city market and 2500 m2 of service space for selected service providers such as Deutsche Post and Postbank.

Thanks to its central location on the station square, the outdoor area offers a wonderful view over Nuremberg and the attractive inner courtyard invites you to linger.

With the consideration of monument protection concerns, a sustainable energy concept and economic efficiency, the Tafelhof Palais is the first LEED Gold-certified project development in Nuremberg.
