Munich Re, Munich

Munich Re, Munich

The existing building from the 1980s was completely renovated in terms of energy and design. It is the new administration building of the Munich Reinsurance Company

The new building envelope meets all relevant requirements such as thermal insulation, sound and sun protection as well as natural ventilation of the offices. To transform it into a more elegant and lively building complex, the entire facade was renewed. The different colours were defined according to the principle of kinetic polychromy. This gives the impression that the building changes colour as you pass by. The specially designed composite windows with openings to the outside ensure a high level of sound insulation on the central ring road in Munich.
