Between Volkspark Prenzlauer Berg and the Velodrom is the location for the new SCALE building in the heart of Berlin.

On Storkower Straße, there is space for young and aspiring companies on up to eight storeys, and for this purpose two cubic structures were combined with a striking entrance and connecting building. The Düsseldorf architects K6 have given it an unmistakable look, with "framed" façade elements whose shape is reminiscent of Polaroids. This will make the building an attractive location for companies and start-ups from 2023.

SOMMER was involved in this project with the following products:

• 2400 factory prefabricated façade elements System SOMMER Sokaltherm
• Pilaster strips made of aluminium profiles up to 12 metres long
• Horizontally arranged fish-belly slats (rigid) in the intermediate buildings
• Sound insulation wall on roof area Renson system
