It is not the everyday dangers or threat scenarios that our designs have to withstand - from natural disasters to terrorist attacks. We solve our customers' individual requirements holistically in the project - batch size one. Our versatility in combining security features makes us and our solutions unique. We create customised security concepts with the highest levels of confidentiality.
Secure storage of valuable exhibits in a visually appealing environment
We create solutions for our customers' requirements for maximum security.
Buildings of public institutions are increasingly targets of vandalism, crime or other attacks. In order to protect people, art treasures and buildings from the effects of danger, we work with architects, planners, project developers and building owners to develop viable solutions for securing the entire building envelope.
National Museum Oslo
Coordinated with the colour concept of the architects Kleihues + Schuwerk, SOMMER developed project-specific solutions for the building envelope together with the planners.

Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi
For the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi, SOMMER has supplied more than 500 security doors and grilles with a wide range of requirements. What stands out here is the complexity and uniqueness of the individual products, which were developed and tested for this specific area of application.
The 3.50 metre high entrance doors in all-glass look secure the building against burglary. SOMMER is proud to have contributed to the protection of this international museum.

ITER
The ITER project (Latin: "the way") is one of the most ambitious energy projects in the world today. In southern France, 35 nations are working together to build the world's largest tokamak, a magnetic fusion device designed to prove the feasibility of fusion as a large-scale, carbon-free energy source. It is based on the same principle that makes our sun and stars shine.
The total of 50 high-security gates supplied by SOMMER are located in a strong magnetic field where they protect against radioactive radiation and heat. They are airtight and watertight and, despite being easy to operate, are designed to be particularly durable and low-maintenance.

We love building with and for people.
We stand for diversity, creativity and innovation. We live individuality in our products, projects and in our cooperation. We also want to realise this in our working environments.
In our field of business, we are constantly reinventing the wheel and adapting to the wishes of our clients. Project management requires agile working in a team-oriented digital environment! In addition, the world of work is changing due to digitalisation.
That is why we have set ourselves the goal of creating a communicative, solution-oriented working environment for our employees with clear principles of order and creative zones with a feel-good character. One of our centrepieces is project management - our "think tank", where we bring together different task profiles - project management, team management and system planners - and create space for thinking and working.
New working worlds
To make this possible, we refurbished the company's building complex from the 1970s and 1980s:
Complete energy-sustainable renovation of the building's outer shell and complete renewal of the electrotechnical infrastructure, taking into account digital requirements, implementation of new findings from the pandemic experience, re-equipping with sustainable, health-promoting office equipment and the creation of new working worlds combined with a realignment in the corporate culture.
Our new room furnishing is characterised by the 4 Cs:
Concentration - Communication - Cooperation - Contemplation.
Our employees can customise their working environment, such as regulating the room temperature themselves, ventilating naturally and healthily, controlling the working light individually and adjusting the height of the desks. Conference rooms with large touch screens, work and chill lounges and workshop zones also allow employees, clients and project partners to feel comfortable in different work situations. For the next few years, we have set ourselves the goal of digitising production and its processes - a great challenge for which we are still looking for comrades-in-arms!
