Respect in mutual interaction, secure jobs and training and development characterise our corporate culture.

Sustainable economic growth requires societies to create the conditions in which people can obtain quality jobs that stimulate the economy while not harming the environment. Moreover, a persistent lack of decent work opportunities jeopardises the basic social contract of our democratic society: everyone must share in progress.

Respectful treatment of employees, suppliers and customers is a self-evident obligation for us. We do not tolerate any form of discrimination or bullying. We are constantly improving working conditions and accident prevention in the company and at our assembly sites, and we share responsibility for each other.

We protect the health and safety of employees and the general public

We strive to maintain a constructive, open and trusting relationship with our customers and authorities, including our employees. The safety culture at SOMMER is characterised by employees who question things, address safety concerns, use error prevention techniques, are aware of risks and continuously assess them.

To protect our employees and fellow human beings from health risks, we provided vaccination services and our own testing station in the wake of the Covid 19 pandemic. We also regularly participate in sporting events with our teams and provide information on health-related topics at the annual AOK Health Day. For example, employees can test their fitness with balance exercises or body analyses, proper lifting is explained and participants can get helpful tips on healthy eating. The topic of stress is also addressed and blood pressure and blood sugar measurements are offered. With the additional introduction of the health programme 'fit und aktiv', health-promoting measures and sporting activities are to be promoted.
