Sustainability

Safe solutions whose quality extends far into the future are what set us apart.

We process steel, aluminium and glass and thus future-proof materials that are recyclable and environmentally friendly. We are particularly proud of our façade for the Netzquartier 50 Hertz, Berlin. It was the first building in the world to receive the DGNB diamond rating. This certificate recognises not only the sustainable construction method but also the quality of design and building culture. As a member of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB e.V.), we are actively working on the facades and constructions of tomorrow. Of course, we are also fully certified as part of our integrated management system. We are digitising to conserve resources. With sustainability for a safe path into the future - that is SOMMER.

By supporting selected goals, we contribute to regional as well as global sustainable development.

On 25 September 2015, all 193 member states of the United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda at the UN Sustainable Development Summit. This global plan includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

With these, the global community commits itself to enabling a dignified life worldwide while permanently preserving the natural foundations of life. The 2030 Agenda underlines the joint responsibility of all actors: politics, business, science, civil society - and every individual.
